At the Institute of Education we offer a range of programmes, both University-led and school-led, enabling you to train to teach at early years, primary or secondary level.

Early Years

Do you want to specialise in working with babies and young children? Early Years Teachers work in a wide range of settings across the children's workforce.

Primary

Would you like to teach primary aged children? The teaching content is broad and covers the whole range of national curriculum subjects.

Secondary

Do you wish to teach 11-18 year olds? You will need to specialise in a particular subject.

Assessment Only

Are you already an experienced teacher?

Do you wish to gain QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or EYTS (Early Years Teacher Status)? Without additional training, the Assessment Only route could be your perfect choice.

Teacher training events

Come to a Postgraduate Initial Teacher Education event. These events cover all routes into teaching for Early Years, Primary and Secondary Postgraduate programmes.
