Master of Architecture

The Part 2 Master of Architecture (MArch) builds upon the expertise in our research area of , as well as partnerships with practices such as *. It is designed to prepare you to critically and imaginatively respond to societal, environmental and technological challenges facing twenty-first century architects.

Your application and portfolio

In addition to a Part 1 ARB validated (prescribed) award (or overseas equivalent), we look for a portfolio that shows evidence of potential for postgraduate study.

Your future career

On completion of our MArch you will be required to complete a period of professional experience and the related examination to be eligible to achieve status as a registered UK architect. 

With our emphasis on design as a research practice, our course supports you to become a creative practitioner and active researcher with a formidible skillset. 

In addition to key creative, technical and professional skills, the MArch offers a strong foundation in research methods to prepare you to join PhD programmes in both traditional and practice modes in architecture and related disciplines.

Scholarships and funding

Students enrolling on our MArch in 2024, who hold a first-class honours degree, have the opportunity to secure a scholarship worth £1,000 for each of the two years of the course. Subject to conditions for 2024 entry.

An Alumni discount of £1,500 is also available to ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø graduates for the first year of the MArch.
