After years of living in the far eastern part of the globe, travelling thousands of miles to the west was a massive change for Nudchanard. However, this did not deter her from her ambition of becoming a practitioner in International Commercial Law and she began researching places where she could study. Although Nudchanard hadn’t had the opportunity to visit ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø, after researching on the internet, she was very impressed with the ranking and academic standards at the University.
Choice and flexibility
"The main reason I chose to study International Commercial Law at the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø was the wide range of modules offered by the School. The choice of modules available presented the opportunity to tailor the course around my interests. I was able to choose from a wide range of internationally oriented topics which cover a broad array of commercial law issues.
"My favourite modules included International Commercial Arbitration and Legal Aspects of International Financial Regulation. The topics covered helped me develop a critical and up-to-date understanding of the important aspects of international dispute resolution, something that I could not study as part of my Bachelor's degree in Thailand."
"Through a taught element on one hand (classroom study) and interactive elements on the other including seminars and guest lectures by professionals from leading law firms in the UK, skills such as communication, presentation, research and critical thinking are optimally trained. "
Outstanding support
"I believe the lecturers at the School of law are truly amazing people. All of my lecturers were really friendly, approachable and supportive, not to mention experts in their field."
"The School provides the best quality of academic support to enhance your learning experience. The lecturers are very passionate about their subject and always keen to help with any kind of problem."
"During a classroom discussion, lecturers raise controversial issues, practical problems and solutions, and this really helps develop your analytical skills."
"Moreover, the lecturers are very considerate; they understand and give a lot of support to international students in adapting and developing their communication and English speaking skills."
A friendly environment
"The University campus is conveniently located close to the city centre. Heathrow airport is a short bus-link service away and you are just a 30-minute train journey from London. People here are very friendly and warm-hearted and you will certainly love this peaceful, beautiful town."
The next steps
"I believe the skills and knowledge I acquired from my studies have helped me secure my current job. Having completed my LLM I now work as a legal officer in a Thai state-owned oil and gas company which is the only company in Thailand to be listed in the Fortune Global 500 companies."
"Studying in ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø has broadened my acumen, as well as increased my overall proficiency. "
"I am extremely happy in my job now, and am hoping to complete a PhD in the future; perhaps I will come back to the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø for that."
