Dr Chang Wang
Background
Dr Chang Wang is a legal scholar and barrister, specialising in Arbitration Law, Commercial Law, and Investment Law. He is notably the first Mainland Chinese individual to be called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn. Dr Wang joined the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø in 2022 following the completion of his PhD in Law from the University of Exeter.
At the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø, Dr Wang is the Module Convenor for Research and Writing Skills, Foundation Law, Research Project, and International Investment Law and Arbitration. In addition, he teaches Tort Law to both LLB and business studies students, bringing his knowledge and experience across disciplines.
Dr Wang’s academic credentials include a PhD in Law from the University of Exeter, an LLM in International Commercial Law, and an LLB, both from the University of Manchester. His professional qualifications as a barrister, with a specialisation in Commercial Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution, further enhance his academic and practical endeavours.
Dr Wang's current research focuses on international commercial and investment arbitration. His scholarly contributions include publication of comparative studies of international arbitration law, and he is presently working on a practice book on Chinese arbitration. He welcomes research students in these areas, as well as in AI law and Digital law.
In his role at the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø, Dr Wang also serves as the Deputy Director of Recruitment and Admissions.'
