Areas of interest

My particular areas of interest are finding innovative ways to develop academic skills at Foundation level and assessment development and literacy.

Background

I have specialised in Foundation level studies in the UK since returning to the UK in 2008. Prior to this, I had taught English as an Additional Language to students in Japan and Spain, coordinating school-based English Programmes of study and exam preparation. Continuing to work with international students was my first consideration when starting work at a UK university.  I have been able to do this through working on the International Foundation Programme at the University of Exeter and, more recently, the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø. I have held positions of responsibility on both programmes as ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø and Study Skills Coordinator at Exeter and as Coordinator of the Foundation English for Academic Purposes module at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø. More recently, I have had the opportunity to set up and convene a new module in Academic Skills for UK-based Foundation students.
