Areas of interest
I have had a lifetime interest in the protection of the environment which I pursued initially with regulatory councils and later as an environmental manager in the oil and chemicals industry. My MBA dissertation investigated sustainability in the Petrochemical industry
In teaching and learning I am interested in improving engagement and achievement of less able students.
Background
Trained as a chemist, then worked for many years as an environmental scientist with design and sales experience in the water treatment and petrochemical industries. I retrained and entered the education sector via a scheme to attract scientists from industry and taught chemistry at secondary level. After leaving permanent teaching five years ago I worked at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø University on the Foundation course in a similar role to the one I hold at present, but on a part-time basis for two years then rejoined the University full time last year.
