Areas of interest

Nutritional epidemiology – Development of objective measures of dietary intake and exposure to food bioactives and other compounds, including early exposure (e.g. childhood). My interest is in particular the development of such methods suitable for application in large-scale cohort studies.

Polyphenol metabolism and health – Association between polyphenol metabolism and health in large scale studies.

Association between meat intake and cancer – Investigation of the association between red and processed meat intake and the risk of colorectal and other cancer, in particular the elucidation of underlying mechanisms. Development of novel food products to reduce the associated risks.
