Postgraduate supervision

I am currently available to supervise PhD students with research interests in the following key areas: Environmental Economics, Applied Economics, Development Economics, and Climate Economics.

Background

Okiemua Theresa Okoror is a lecturer in economics at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø. Her research interests include applied economics, environmental economics, and development economics.

Okiemua holds a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from the University of Benin, and currently at the completion phase for a PhD in Economics, ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø. Before then, she bagged a first class degree from the University of Benin, where she graduated as the best student in the Department of Agricultural Economics, thus winning the best student award. Thereafter, she was retained as a graduate assistant in the Department, from where she rose to a lecturer 1. She won the Education Trust Fund award, which enabled her to pursue an MSc in Agricultural Economics at the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø, where she graduated with distinction.

Okiemua is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). Okiemua won the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Rapid Response Policy Engagement Fund  twice, in 2022 and 2023 , with Dr Stefania Lovo and Dr Samantha Rawlings. In 2021, Okiemua also served as the lead study expert for a survey research on the cost-benefit analysis of value chain agents supplying fresh fruit bunches (FFB) to Okomu Plc. Nigeria, a project sponsored by the international organization 2SCALE.

Additionally, she led a team to secure the TETFund Research Projects Intervention Funds in Nigeria.
