Professor Adrian Williams

Adrian is responsible for all matters relating to research students within the University.
Adrian completed his own PhD in 1990 in drug delivery at the University of Bradford, after which he stayed as a faculty member in the School of Pharmacy where he was promoted to Professor. He moved to the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø in 2004. Since then he has been appointed as the Head of Pharmacy, Head of the School of Chemistry, Food and Pharmacy and, most recently, as Research Dean for the Agriculture, Food and Health Research Theme.
Throughout his academic career Adrian has continued as a Professor of Pharmaceutics and retains a strong research group.
He has published over 150 research papers, review articles and book chapters and has authored two books. He has given numerous invited lectures at international conferences.
He has a strong track record in supporting early career researchers and has supervised over 60 PhD and postdoctoral researchers. He continues to deliver specialist teaching on skin and its diseases to the third-year MPharm students in the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø School of Pharmacy.
Adrian has been awarded fellowships by the UK Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Higher Education Academy.
