ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø's Department of Economics was established more than half a century ago.
100% of our research impact has been classed ‘outstanding’ or ‘very considerable’ (REF 2021, combining 4* and 3* submissions – Business and Management Studies, and Anthropology and Development Studies).
Our academic staff hold expertise in the various fields of economics, with research expertise spanning areas such as behavioural economics, labour economics, econometrics, macroeconomics, business economics and finance, development economics and sports economics.
We offer a range of postgraduate programmes reflecting the changing global economic environment. Our strong focus on applied research means that we emphasise the policy implications of our research findings.
