King’s coronation: a new era of British history

Speaking ahead of the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III at Westminster Abbey, the Vice-Chancellor of the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø, Professor Robert Van de Noort, pays tribute to His Majesty.
Among his new roles, HM The King succeeds his mother, grandfather and great-grandfather as Visitor of the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø, in accordance with the University’s Royal Charter granted by George V in 1926.
Professor Robert Van de Noort said: “We are proud that King Charles is the Visitor of the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø under our Royal Charter.
“We are delighted to share in this historic moment. We share many of the same values as the King. We are both committed to climate action in the face of climate change and we are both advocates for biodiversity. We also share a commitment to sustainable and innovative farming practices.
“We continue to be grateful for the King’s support as patron of our Museum of English Rural Life.
“We are excited by this new era of British History.”
