Summary module description:
This real estate module comprises four elements - two projects, CMS exercises and a fieldtrip.ÌýThe module is delivered at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø and ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Malaysia.Ìý
Aims:
The module provides students with an opportunity to applyÌýduring part 2,Ìýsubject knowledgeÌýgained during part 1, and to obtain and applyÌýnew real estateÌýsector knowledge, helping to inform their choice of pathway in part 3. The module develops research and information gathering, analytical and academic skills,Ìýas well as encouraging independent learning and the development ofÌýreflective andÌýpersonal career management skills.Ìý

ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø and data gathering relevant to a real estate market problem, culminating in a professional business report;Ìý
Information gathering on real estate sector roles and skills self-appraisal, culminating in theÌýpreparation of a covering letter;Ìý
Fieldtrip reflecting on the real estate world of practice, culminating in an individual diary.Ìý

Summative assessment- Coursework and in-class tests:
The moduleÌýwill beÌýassessed using the following methods (each project is worth 12.0 credits and the CMS exercises and fieldtrip are worth 3 credits each):Ìý
1. Individual research paper: indicative overall lengthÌý3,000 words (40%) toÌýbe submitted in week 20 (SpringÌýterm week 1);Ìý
2. ProjectÌýreport: indicative overall length, equivalent of 3,000 wordsÌý(40%)Ìýto be submitted in week 30 (Spring term week 11);Ìý
3. Career management skills exercises report: indicativeÌýoverallÌýlengthÌý2,000Ìýwords (10%) to be submitted in week 26 (Spring term week 7).Ìý
4. Fieldtrip reflective diary: indicative overall length 1,000Ìýwords (10%) to be submitted in week 31.Ìý

Penalties for late submission:
The Module Convenor will apply the following penalties for work submitted late, in accordance with the University policy.
·Ìý where the piece of work is submitted up to one calendar week after the original deadline (or any formally agreed extension to the deadline): 10% of the total marks available for the piece of work will be deducted from the mark for each working day (or part thereof) following the deadline up to a total of five working days;
·Ìý where the piece of work is submitted more than five working days after the original deadline (or any formally agreed extension to the deadline): a mark of zero will be recorded.

Assessment requirements for a pass:
A mark of at least 40% overall.
Reassessment arrangements:
Reassessment will be by the same method as for the module’s original assessment requirements, subject to variation by the Examination Board where appropriate.Ìý
