FLAIR Framework
At the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø teaching excellence is integral to the student experience and we are constantly looking at ways to enhance and develop teaching & learning across the University.
The University regards the highest quality of teaching as a key component of the student experience, and is committed to ensuring that all staff at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø involved in teaching and learning are appropriately supported. The FLAIR Framework combines three strands: an AFHEA pathway for doctoral researchers, the Academic Practice Programme (APP) for staff relatively new to teaching in HE and a non-taught CPD Route for experienced staff.
AFHEA pathway for doctoral researchers
Through the Doctoral and Researcher College the ADE team support a selected cohort of doctoral researchers to work towards and apply for recognition for their work in teaching and supporting learning, in order to attain AFHEA status.
Academic Practice Programme
The Academic Practice Programme is a 40 credit Level 7 taught programme, accredited by the Higher Education Academy at Descriptor 1 and 2.
CPD Route
The FLAIR CPD scheme is an internal accreditation process which enables experienced staff to gain professional recognition for the work they do in teaching or supporting learning.
